Use an AI First Draft to Find What You Want to Say

A blank page can make the whole piece feel like one enormous decision.

In this Short, I look at AI as a way to produce a first attempt. The value is having something to react to, rather than treating the generated text as the finished article.

I would give it the core idea, the audience, and the source material it may use. Then read the result with a pen in hand, metaphorically or otherwise.

Which sentence is actually useful? Where does the draft become generic? What did it assume that I never said?

Those reactions can help reveal the shape of the piece. Keep the good parts, rewrite what does not fit, and check every factual claim.

The interesting outcome is a draft that helps me think. It still needs my decisions before it deserves to be published.
